Sensei Ellis is often asked by students which books they should read.

He has always consistantly told them that they should use the Dojo to explore Aikido - However, there are some fine books written. And here is a list of some of them.

Dynamic Aikido Gozo Shioda Kodansha International 1968 0 87011 301 1. Written by the founder of Yoshinkan Aikido, this is an excellent introduction to technique for the new Aikido Student.
Aikido and the Dynamic Sphere A.Westbrook & O.Ratti Charles E Tuttle 1970 0 8048 0004 9. One of the finest Martial Art books ever written and highly suited for the Western reader, Excellent Illustrations.
Aikido Kisshomaru Ueshiba Hozansha 1985 0 87040 629 9. Written by the 2nd Headmaster of Aikido, this is very comprehensive and detailed with photo illustrations.
